We believe that providing education, training and support to you, your family and your support network is our key priority. Our education and training programs for families are all about ensuring that you receive the right education and training at the right time.

Introduction to Understanding and Managing Epilepsy
A diagnosis of epilepsy can often be confusing for the individual, this short online training program includes the following information and is suitable for a family member who provides support to an individual living with epilepsy.
During this training course you will learn:
- facts about epilepsy.
- about seizure types and what seizure activity may look like.
- about the Epilepsy Management Planning process, the Epilepsy Management Plan (EMP) and the Emergency Medication Management Plan (EMMP).
- basic first aid response for seizures.
- the potential impacts of epilepsy on the life of the individual.

Emergency Medication Training
If you or a family member has recently been diagnosed with epilepsy, or there has been a change in diagnosis or management, we can provide you with the training you need so that you, your family and support network will feel confident in meeting your needs or the needs of the individual living with epilepsy.
In this one hour personalised training session your family and support network will receive information on how to provide an emergency first aid response and training on how to administer the prescribed emergency medication at home. Your trainer will go through the individual Epilepsy Management Plan and Emergency Medication Management Plan with your family and the support network, ensuring that you all develop the knowledge required to understand the plans, and the skills required to administer the emergency medication. This training is delivered by a Registered Nurse.

Epilepsy Information Sessions
Community information sessions are held regularly at varying locations. These sessions are for people living with epilepsy and their support network and will help you to gain a greater understanding of the condition and how to manage it, including how to provide a first aid response.
If you would like us to provide an information session about epilepsy in your community we are more than happy to discuss this. We believe strongly that the more people we talk to the closer we get to ensuring that no person living with epilepsy goes it alone.
