Epilepsy Training for Education Settings

Our training programs are evidence-based and person-centred. Training is provided which is specific to the individual living with epilepsy.

Courses for education settings including schools, tertiary institutions and pre-schools, include a 2 hour advanced workshop which aims to provide participants with the knowledge required to support an individual living with epilepsy, with a specific focus on providing the level of information required for community care, primary health and special school environments.

The skills and knowledge required to administer emergency medication for the treatment of seizures is taught in the Administration of Emergency Medication course. Participants will learn how to administer emergency medication in accordance with an individual’s Emergency Medication Management Plan.

The Administration of Emergency Medication course is included on the Victorian Institute of Teaching Special Needs Plan PD Provider List and meets the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers: Standards 4.1, 1.5 and 1.6
