The NDIS is the biggest social reform in recent decades, providing funding for supports to people with permanent and significant disabilities. It is being progressively rolled out across all Australian states and territories, and will be fully implemented by 2019. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is the independent agency established to implement and run the NDIS.
You must be under the age of 65 years and meet the residency and disability eligibility requirements in order to apply for the NDIS. To determine your eligibility for NDIS funding you can contact the NDIS directly for more information.
Some people living with epilepsy may be eligible to receive NDIS support, either because of the impact of their epilepsy alone or because they also live with another disability.
If you would like further information about how to access Epilepsy Foundation supports through the NDIS call our InfoLine on 1300 761 487.
