NDIS Decision Appeal

What to do when the NDIS has declined your access request

If you disagree with a decision made by the NDIS, you can contact them to ask them to explain their reasons.

You can apply to the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) for an internal review of the decision. You must apply for a review within three months of their decision.

If you are unhappy with the findings of this internal review you can apply for an external review by the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT). The AAT is an independent body that reviews government decisions.

The NDIS has an Appeals Program which helps you to access support when appealing to the AAT. The first step is to read through the information about the program.

Find a National Disability Advocacy Program-funded partner to support your application to the AAT. There are partners located in every region.
